This position is responsible for providing financial, statistical, and analytical support to Senior Management, with a focus on sales and market data. Responsibilities will include designing customized sales and margin reports, performing market share research and analysis, monitoring of Stryker contracts and competitive business, and presenting analysis on a regular basis. Additionally, the role will perform several month end analysis and reporting functions. This individual must serve as a contributing member of the Finance team while championing Stryker’s Vision, Promise and Mission.

Individual Responsibilities:

• Proactively collaborates with internal teams/departments to promote a culture of inclusiveness and cooperation
• Work with the business to establish a clear understanding of products, sales channels, key accounts, marketing and selling strategies
• Consistently meets service delivery expectations based on input from the business

Commercial Support
• Provide analysis and insights related to sales channel performance, customer and market trends, and other internal and external factors that may impact business performance
• Analysis and communication of key business drivers to enable sales and marketing to effectively manage their P&L
• Perform variance analysis between actual and expected financial results
• Partner with the business to establish and implement efficient and harmonized processes in accordance with standard methodologies, and ensure all local core processes are documented in the approved format
• Work collaboratively with IT to design, prepare, and maintain customized sales and market share reports on a regular basis including ownership of daily and monthly sales reporting functions
• Point person for collection, submission and analysis of sales data to the MEDEC Market Share Task Force
• Manage Canada’s monthly finance business review process


Planning / Forecasting
• Assist Finance Management in the preparation, coordination and consolidation of Canada’s annual strategic plan, monthly projections and budget
• Assist in planning, tracking, and analysis of sales, margins, and general expenses by product line and cost centers
• Improve the planning process, quality, and timelines of our projections
• Conduct debt-to-equity analysis and provide capitalization studies
• Support hedging program and other cash management initiatives
• Provide input to decisions on pricing / positioning and investment
• Provide analysis to facilitate the review of current performance vs. operational and strategic plan expectations


Analysis
• Monitor product launches against forecast
• Review variances in P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow
• Support the marketing team with ad-hoc analysis (pricing, market data, financial support for product launch planning)
• Conduct performance analysis between actual results vs. last year, budget and projections
• Work with RFP Supervisor in providing profitability analysis on all RFP submissions
• Provide insight, identify, and comment on trends in sales and market share analysis
• Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor
• Minimum five years of accounting/statistical/analysis experience
• Advanced Data Manipulation skills (designing, building and maintaining files in Microsoft Excel/Access, Sequel)
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures and their application to a selling environment
• Sales driven and healthcare sector experience an asset
• Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to handle multiple priorities and manage projects to a timely conclusion
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of management and maintaining relationships with divisional personnel
• Knowledge/experience dealing with Oracle, HFM and Cognos software is an asset
• Bachelor Degree in Commerce/Business/Finance/Math/Statistics required
• Completion of a CMA/CGA/CA designation an asset
