Product Manager, Knees
Brand/Product Marketing
Canada - Ontario
Under the direction of the manager, the incumbent develops and implements sales and marketing programs for a specific product line, including developing and analyzing sales reports to provide market trends, providing support to both internal and external sales staff and establishing optimum levels of inventory within their respective portfolio. This individual must serve as a contributing member of the Marketing team while championing Stryker’s Vision, Promise and Mission.

Individual Responsibilities:

• Proactively collaborates with internal teams/departments to promote a culture of inclusiveness and cooperation
• Responsible to live and drive Stryker’s five success factors: Quality First, Customer Experience, Innovation, People Development, and Financial Results

Functional Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement national product launches, product phase out and product support and maintenance
• Develop and manage a complete marketing program for the successful introduction, marketing and sale of the products
• Make recommendations regarding product improvements on existing products and on the feasibility of new product development
• Establish, monitor and manage product life cycles (forecasting) and set minimum and maximum levels for products within portfolio
• Represent the specific portfolio at regional, national and international conferences, meetings and symposia
• Develop strategic business plans to respond to rends and aggressively grow the specific portfolio
• Provide recommendations, strategic plans and insight to senior management regarding the specific portfolio
• Provide support to the sales force through product information, case coverage, troubleshooting, assistance with product information sessions, promotion of new products, nurse in-servicing and surgeon meetings
• Manage the development and distribution of marketing materials and promotions for the specific portfolio and curriculum for educational initiatives
• Provide support and pricing approvals to the sales managers for RFPs including recommendations for price points, product selections for tenders and set configurations
• Manage statistical sales reporting systems to provide market trend analysis reports

• Track the set usage rates for consigned sets, source demonstration sets for workshops and cadaver courses and developing instrumentation and inventory forecasting to the manufactures
• Other duties, etc as assigned by your manager
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong presentation skills
• A fundamental knowledge of marketing and promotions
• A strong comfort level in a clinical setting (operating rooms, hospitals, etc.)
• Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Ability to learn new concepts and apply them in a functional setting
• Ability to consistently produce accurate, professional work
• Ability to travel (up to 40% of the time)
• Self-starter with the ability to show significant initiative in problem resolution
• High energy level with strong people skills and a positive attitude
• Good rapport with internal stakeholders and external sales force
• Ability to thrive in a high intensity environment
• University Degree (Preferably in Sciences/Kinesiology and/or Business or Marketing) preferred
• 2-4 years experience in Marketing or Sales an asset
• Medical background or experience an asset
• Internal applicants with an equivalent combination of education, experience and performance over time at Stryker will be considered
