Job SummaryThe Training Associate is responsible for a range of activities to develop and run key teaching and
learning activities in the KAUST Entrepreneurship Center, through directly supporting the EC Learning and Design Lead (manager). This would include supporting the STEAM Innovation Challenges, training programs related to the Taqadam University Entrepreneur Accelerator program and material related to events such as REVelate. The Training Associate would work in tandem with other members of the Teaching & Learning side of the Entrepreneurship Center in managing content, support the
International Mentor group, liaising with external organizations and would support training program execution inside and outside the university.
Major Responsibilities
  • Develop final versions of best practice material related to innovation, entrepreneurship,
  • creativity and design thinking for use in a classroom environment.
  • Support the management of the STEAM Innovation Challenges which occur several times
  • during the year
  • This includes liaising with the external universities for student & faculty involvement
  • Developing a working relationship with the KAUST Enrichment Program for embedding
  • STEAM and other programs into SEP/WEP/FEP.
  • It also includes co-developing the challenge material with the external sponsor over the 2-3 months prior to each STEAM Challenge.
  • Prepare T&L material for delivery into the Taqadam accelerator program
  • Coordination on the New Venture School program and large external startup training delivery
  • Coordinate with other parts of KA UST for program deliver
  • Support the direct marketing activities of the commercial T&L programs in collaboration with the marketing department and other KAUST EC staff
  • Support online efforts (Linkedln group, email targeting lists etc) to insure continuous visibility of the different offerings to targeted groups e.g. corporates, government and non-profit
  • This includes working with the Industry Engagement & Partnership team, l&ED Marketing Team for preparation of external events participation (Arabnet, MITEF, GCF, Industry conferences) and attending the official KAUST or partner stands at these external conferences and events.

Technical Skills
  • Entrepreneurship, design thinking, leadership and/or innovation related subject matter knowledge
  • Ability to create and/or manage related content with some current or potential delivery capabilities (e.g. experience or willing to teach on training programs in the future)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders in the corporate sector, government and nonprofit sectors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders within KAUST particularly in other parts of l&ED
Non-Technical Skills or Attributes
  • Team player, goal oriented with leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task and cope with changing priorities
  • Excellent judgment, tact, discretion when dealing with confidential matters
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively particularly to an audience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Strong computer skills (MS office package particularly PPT, and web applications, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Preference for fluent English & Arabic speaker
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferable or a professional qualification of equivalent standing. Further education, PhD or business administration would be helpful, in one of the key areas of content.
Required Experience
  • 3-5 years relevant business experience preferably involving working as a teaching assistant, lecturer or in a startup or corporate innovation related area.
  • Experience in preparing content for teaching or training preferable.
