Job SummaryThe International Recruitment, Relations and Retention Specialist works closely with the Associate Dean to define the recruitment strategy and to manage the PSE Division’s yearly student recruitment drive, international relations, and international student retention. He/she represents KAUST at recruitment events, and also leads the development, planning and delivery of a range of workshops and activities in accordance with the mission, goals, and policy of the University. Primary responsibilities include the independent management and execution of a comprehensive graduate and international student recruitment plan, according to recruitment goals and faculty inquiries, as well as providing collaborative support in all phases of the student lifecycle (prospect to alumnus).
Major Responsibilities
Work with the Associate Dean to plan the yearly recruitment drives across the division.
Represent KAUST in Kingdom and overseas in university events and higher education conventions such as global networking events; international education sector conferences, summits and symposiums; educational fairs; open day recruitment activities and/or where such events are held in targeted destinations best suited to the university recruitment goals.
Develop and deliver presentations and workshops to actively promote and raise the international profile of KAUST, its advanced research facilities and benefits of offered degree programs. Develop and implement short- and long-term recruitment strategy according to the Division’s yearly objectives and budget plan (e.g. feeder and outreach programs).Build a pool of selected universities and prospective high-quality students to connect with faculty, student’s organizations and alumni. Establish and maintain communication with prospective students and their advisors, as well as global partners, virtually or via technology (via skype, phone calls, emails, chats, virtual fairs), as appropriate, and assist in providing information on admission requirements, academic programs, enrollment procedures, and student life on campus.
Disseminate information on ongoing recruitment activities, assess processes in place and advise faculty accordingly. 
Maintain follow-up and briefing reports to the Associate Dean on recruitment activities progress, applicants and future plans, in order to assess the effectiveness of the strategy.  
Evaluate and make recommendations for future recruitment planning and activities. 
Coordinate activities with those of other programs, departments, and outside agencies and organizations. 
Liaise between faculty and the Associate Dean to ensure completion of required activities in the best interests of KAUST.
Follow up with faculty and align the planned activities with their inquiries. 
Liaise with KAUST Admissions team and faculty to keep up-to-date with current policies and other factors which may affect the recruitment strategy. 
Follow up with faculty and Graduate Program Coordinators  (GPCs) on enrolled students’ progress and retention. 
Build and maintain relationships with colleagues at KAUST, in Kingdom and globally. 
Lead the creation and implementation of a holistic approach to international student recruitment marketing via digital brand marketing and direct offline marketing.
Conduct an environmental scan, student focus groups and surveys, as necessary, to inform strategy.
Assess and benchmark international mobility and recruitments trends, as well as international markets. 
Lead the development a communications plan for PSE international student recruitment marketing.
Collaborate with KAUST Graduate Affairs to put into place a suitable Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to manage leads and outgoing communications to optimize student outreach.
Collaborate within PSE and across KAUST for the creation, review and updating of promotional materials and relevant websites. 
Gather and maintain statistics on the admissions cycle (numbers who apply, those who are admitted, and matriculants), as well as graduate and alumni data. 
Collaborate with faculty, GPCs, Faculty Affairs and Graduate Affairs for retention activities.

Technical Skills
Implement and coordinate outreach activities to engage admitted and enrolled students.
Develop and coordinate communications and activities with graduating students and alumni.
Create, develop and train volunteer PSE ambassadors to assist with recruitment efforts.
Develop a divisional calendar of recruitment activities, to include faculty, staff and student travel, in order to best coordinate and execute an effective recruitment strategy.
Revisit divisional recruitment strategy and refresh and renew in response to the institutional and international recruitment environment. 
Manage general recruitment budget for (division-level) recruitment and outreach activities.
Oversee the further development and maintenance of PSE international partnership agreements.
Establish and oversee the annual promotional KAUST/PSE material distribution to key partners globally.

Required Education Master’s degree at a minimum, with prior experience in a university.
Required Experience
Experience working in a multicultural environment with co-workers from diverse backgrounds 
Knowledge of international higher education systems.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Knowledge of foreign languages and Arabic is an asset. 
5-7 years’ experience working in the area(s) of international student recruitment, admissions, and/or services. 
Understanding of international student recruitment and retention best practices. 
Familiarity with international student mobility trends and markets.
Knowledge of foreign educational systems.
