SRA has an opening for a Sr. Systems Engineer – Technical Operations to support one of our U.S. Government projects. This project provides System Engineering/System Integration (SE/SI) support and is located in Herndon, VA. Some travel is required.

*** This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with Lifestyle polygraph. Candidates who do not currently hold this level of clear will not be considered.

Project Overview:
SRA provides SETA support for USG customer. Candidate should possess domain expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: computer science; electronics; biometrics; digital imaging; optics; communications; forensics; materials suitability; and data processing. This position is for Technical Operations staff augmentation for field support

Responsibilities:
• Analyzes and studies complex operational requirements and devolves them into operational CONOPS and system requirements
• Evaluates and provides periodic updates on relevant technological advances
• Performs technical operations planning and coordination
• Oversees tool and system/subsystem implementation and integration
• Manages field deployment of systems and devices and associated logistics
• Reviews existing programs and assists in making refinements, reducing operational response times, and improving current techniques
• Analyzes proposed technical solutions and provides detailed technical analysis

This position entails Technical Operations support to customer field activities. Selected individual will work closely with the customer to field and operate mission specific systems and devices. Selected individual will be expected to travel with the customer and provide whatever augmented support is needed. Preference given to those with previous USG and field support experience

Tasks include, but are not limited to, facilitating communications with customers: analyzing operational concepts; developing alternative operational concepts; and/or recommending developmental efforts to satisfy customers’ needs.

Assist in interpreting and defining customers’ needs and, as appropriate, help customers achieve a common understanding of what is required. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, organizing face-to-face meetings, documenting the results, and following up to ensure that agreed-upon actions have been completed. Provide capabilities briefings to operational audiences as requested.

Provide consultative support to customer management to ensure integration across customer strategic planning, office- and directorate-level plans, and trends in customers’ operational needs. Assist with development, analysis, and refinement of business processes to ensure prioritization of competing customer requirements and to provide requirements traceability throughout projects life cycle

Assist with the collection of operational requirements, and the deployment, training, and maintenance of customers’ tools, systems, and related technologies. Shall have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to fully understand operational requirements, and interact effectively with both internal and external customers and partners. Must have the knowledge, experience, and ability to independently plan and execute worldwide technical operations. Must be capable of supporting foreign travel.
