This program is part of a larger IT infrastructure effort with 130 employees working on site to support our federal government client. Our team is looking for forward thinking IT specialists interested in providing world class support to the scientific cancer research community and our federal government client. You will provide critical project support, service monitoring and restoration, testing and troubleshooting to the entire NCI user community including scientists, senior managers, office administrators, researchers and laboratory support staff. As a member of our team, you will use your expert skills to provide a variety of services including support of day to day IT service operations, special projects and resolution of complex computing issues. You will enhance the health care capabilities of a high performance organization leveraging technology including computational intensive computing infrastructure support, high speed network management, multiple vender server computer services and helpdesk.
Positions will be for full time employment with SRA and based in our Rockville, MD office.
Key responsibilities include: • Lead a small team of server storage engineers • Manage server and storage hardware design and implementation, provision of resources for application development and hosting and end-user technical support. • Design, document, install, and support all software and hardware required to provide needed storage and backup functionality and security. • Install, configure, maintain and operate SAN and NAS. Update hardware firmware as needed to provide needed functionality and security. Hardware includes HP and EMC. • Monitor systems and provide information and statistics relevant to system capacity limits on data storage, system utilization, etc. with enough lead-time to avoid system crashes and data loss. • Install, tune, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain all storage and backup relevant to the supported applications including all necessary tasks to perform operating system administration, user account management, and networking configuration. • Provide data backup and restoration services. • Develop and follow standard operating procedures for common tasks to ensure quality of service. | | None | | • One (1) or more of the following certifications are required: o HP-ASE StorageWorks Integration o HP-Master ASE Storage Solutions o SNIA Certified Storage Networking Expert (SCSN‐E) o CompTIA Storage+ Powered by SNIA certification
• Experience managing large scale storage environments with multiple petabytes of storage across the enterprise • 10+ years of experience managing a multiple vendor storage environment, preferably HP and / or EMC • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining storage and backup solutions including SAN and NAS • Experience providing systems usage statistics for use in overall capacity planning initiatives. • Experience with deployment of hosting systems, preferably those at co-location facilities. | | 6-9 | | • Strong written and oral communications • Experience leading a small team of storage engineers • Datacenter management experience. • Experience working in a scientific research environment such as National Institutes of Health • ITIL foundations certification or ability to obtain certification within 3 months • Experience automating data storage provisioning |
